Why Does Germany Think It Can Convict John Demjanjuk Of War Crimes When Even Israel Failed To Do So?

The original case against Demjanjuk,claiming he was a concentration camp guard called Ivan the Terrible,was so obviously phony that Israel’s supreme court released him. Believing this man must nevertheless be guilty of something,Germany wants to put him on trial for war crimes. There are other obvious war criminals walking around loose,so why the fixation on this man?Is the German legal system not capable of rational action?

Why do US Americans care that much about a Ukrainean Nazi?
Demjanuk Joined SS by his free will many people did so in most countries occupied by Germany that time. There were French, Dutch, Letonian, Lithuanian, Ukrainean in the SS.
Later Demjanuk lied to become a citizen of the USA.
Do you think he is a better guy only because he was a non German Nazi?

And btw as an american I would be more worried about the justice system in the US one of the worst in the world!!

Rational action? In regard to war crimes going back to the 2nd world war? No, sorry, don’t think we are capable of that.
And where are the “obvious war criminals walking around loose” that you are talking about? If they were so obvious while they were walking out loose, than why didn’t we get them all? And what about von Braun, the obvious war criminal that was walking around loose, even founding a town in the US, working for the NASA. How come he was never prosecuted?
And how come this question is raised now? How come people have forgiveness for him, when the press even questioned the Pope because he had been (forced to be) part of the Hitler youth?
Is it hanging the flag after the wind? cause that’s what did us Germans in for the last 60 years.
