What Song Should I Sing For My Bye Bye Birdie Audition?

I don’t want to sing something from the show, because I’ve been told that’s not a good idea.
But I know that I have to sing something with almost the same style.
Unfortunately though, all of the other musicals I like don’t sound at all like Bye Bye Birdie.
Do you have any ideas?

SIng what ever you have prepared and have the music for. They are looking for your range and don’t have to have you sounding like Bye Bye Birdie.
They just want to make sure you have a pleasant voice and can sing.
Anything from Anything Goes, West Side Story, Fiddler, or Crazy for You

This was our musical last year!
If you want to be Rosie I would do the actual song that she sings: what did i ever see in him
If you want to be Kim i would do the actual song that she sings: How lovely to be a woman or one boy.
Other options for Rosie:
Other side of the tracks
Everything’s coming up roses
Other options for Kim:
Part of your world

as an actor i know why those rules are place. let me first say reason why do not sing a song from the show is because ur try show ur director what ur range and also how good of range it is. second it does not have be show tunes. i made show doing scales, and twinkle twinkle. it easier once u know what kind of role u want. that the key.

I enjoy being a girl
from Flower Drum Song.
I think it is a perfect match.
It is in the same vein as
How Lovely to be a Woman.
Good Luck
